It was a blue moon night, I was anxious and afraid.
I had some heavy debts, and had they all been paid?
You take the world into your arms, you know you have to try
to keep it safe while you look the lion in the eye.
There is my footprint and those sticks arrayed as if by chance -
the evidence will pass away but yes, there was a dance.
I used to know just what to do, I used to be so sure -
but I think what I miss the most is those red boots I wore.
Life's what you know and what you do and the company you keep,
and who it is you're glad to see when you wake from sleep.
And still I try to keep my word and be the one I seem,
and have my work be more than a brave unbodied scheme.
