Literature Text

Give me your hand, babe, let's go walking today.
We will walk until we're seven hundred miles away.

We will walk in the park and hear the mockingbird's song.
Every note they sing is right, they never get one wrong.

We will walk by the ocean, and hear those whales singing too.
They have a song sweet as honey, if honey were blue.

We will walk through the orchard where the jujubes grow.
We will pick and eat the ones that are hanging down low.

And we will tiptoe around any trouble we find.
You know, even Superman takes a day off sometimes.

We will walk in our sandals, we won't need boots or shoes.
If we want to go barefoot, we will do that too.

We have no reason to hurry, no reason to rush.
The whole world is out there waiting for us.

Wear your sunglasses, babe, the sun is bright as can be.
I will still know it's you and you'll still know it's me.

Here in the city tonight is a masquerade ball.
Seven thousand people coming - they won't miss us at all.
Something the muse sent today.
