There's a surpriing femininity to this. Like a lighthouse with eyelashes. it's a compelling image. But somehow disturbing. Don't know why, but will continue to ponder.

"A lighthouse with eyelashes", that's wonderful, thank you - and for your whole comment. I explore with the notebook pieces because I'm not planning to share them - I work and re-work them, see where they go - about half end up worth posting.

I have a similar system of working out things. Exploration takes many shapes. I do small canvases, but it's the same concept. I find notebooks confining--don't know why, just the way it is. Must be the binding!

I think I like notebooks because they shut - when I'm not satisfied with a piece I can close the notebook and not have to look at it!
