Lullabies

I taught my tongue so many things -
I taught it lullabies.
I sang them softly to my sons,
until they closed their eyes.

I sang them for the wakeful world
and it raved on and on.
It would not rest, it did not heed
the song upon my tongue.

I sang them to my troubles then,
my own, so very near,
and when they fell asleep I saw
how sweet their faces were.

My sons awoke, the world raved on,
my troubles stirred and coughed.
"Sleep on a while," I softly said,
and sang again so soft.

this piece arouses the feeling of anticipation , strong , and if any work gives such a strong feel it´s a strong work . Done with so little elements it´s even more remarkable

..the quiet - understated collage - glad they exist - and that you have that light subtle touch to make it work . . . . . I've always felt that there's a fine line between 'subtle and intriguing'- &-'insipid and boring' -- you seem to find a way to cross that line - not easy to accomplish in my book. ( that's a compliment !- however awkwardly worded

)

yes, i take it as one and thank you very much! I know what you mean, too - the way I think of it is that every piece has to "speak" - and if I look at them and they're not saying anything, I keep working or put them aside.
