this piece arouses the feeling of anticipation , strong , and if any work gives such a strong feel itīs a strong work . Done with so little elements itīs even more remarkable :iconshhplz:

thanks very much, Markus. sometimes you get just the right elements in just the right position and they speak strongly with no need for more.

such a wonderful, minimalistic composition, adorable color stick, and a message that can be interpreted in many ways.

..the quiet - understated collage - glad they exist - and that you have that light subtle touch to make it work . . . . . I've always felt that there's a fine line between 'subtle and intriguing'- &-'insipid and boring' -- you seem to find a way to cross that line - not easy to accomplish in my book. ( that's a compliment !- however awkwardly worded :) )

yes, i take it as one and thank you very much! I know what you mean, too - the way I think of it is that every piece has to "speak" - and if I look at them and they're not saying anything, I keep working or put them aside.

that's a good point - it can be peace or it can be repression. Hanan made a picture called "let there be silence", i've been thinking about it today, the sounds i would turn off and those i would leave on.

Hmmm, silence breaks when we speak or sing...
It also breaks your heart when held too long.
Or maybe that's just me?

Not just you. Very true.
And I'm glad you saw that -
"breaks" as a transitive verb.

ahh you always have such good coffee stains! bravo for this one. the prism is quite strong though...
how has ulrich deserved that??? (ach i am curious...)

thanks! the stained paper was what began the piece.

there are two schools of thought on the prism...

i first posted the piece without the dedication, ulrich said he wished a rainbow would show up on his desk... so i edited the comments and dedicated it to him.

Kind of was very good with out the rainbow bar. BuT I guess others liked just because of that.

I liked Michelle's comments bettet than mine!

hmmmm.... I see what you mean. The rainbow bar makes it more of an idea piece, without it, it would have been a purer expressive piece. Or maybe the other way around... Anyway, I sincerely appreciate the comment, Ed. It didn't even occur to me to leave the rainbow out - I put the piece together in about 5 minutes - and this helps me see it differently.

People do like the rainbow.

true
and i'm trying to break the silence
the unhealthy one, that is.

sometimes silence is peace and understanding. sometimes it's repressed emotions and thoughts.

anyway, well done :)

thanks, Isabelle. i know - that's a tough silence to break.

i was thinking about those two sides of silence, working on a poem about it, and suddenly found myself putting this collage together instead.

thanks for the fave, too :rose:
