H to RM by RichardLeach H to RM by RichardLeach
Acrylic paint and ink on corrugated cardboard, about 7.5 x 5.75 inches. I was experimenting with ink on a piece of cardboard I had brushed some paint onto. What I came up with reminded me so much of Robert Motherwell that I titled it as I did - "H" for "homage."

Is this Indian ink or acrylic ink?

I like this one....

Thanks very much, Harry. The ink is Noodler's Heart of Darkness.

Well done, Richard. As others have mentioned, the colors, the boldness, and the apparent simplicity appeal to me. I see the profile of a fox (a ninja fox in black mask?) casting a sly, knowing, rearward glance. I also get the sense of the Guy Fawkes mask worn by "V". Must be due to that final "mustache" stroke. ;)

Bold, immense, and expressive...and then there is that single subdued dot to the left...unafraid.

Thank you very much, Yvette. And yes! Those little dots are so significant in pieces like this. I didn't deliberately place that dot, but seeing it let me know the piece worked.

almost every "H" in my world is for you, you have to spare one for another purpose occasionally :D

and thanks very much. "experimenting" is maybe a little too serious a word for what i was doing with the ink - but i liked the way it came out. it was serious play :)
