Pursued BluesThe speed limit here is fifty,
but I'm doing a hundred and ten.
If my luck holds out till morning,
I might make it home again.

I've been moving since October
and they haven't got me yet.
I keep my eyes wide open
for every trap they set.

Sometimes I say a prayer to heaven
for the damage all around.
There is justice high above us,
but who can call it down?

The speed limit here is fifty,
but I'm doing a hundred and ten.
If my luck holds out till morning,
I might make it home again.

If I do get home tomorrow,
I will not be there long.
I'll put my arms around my people,
and then I will be gone.

But it's not so much the staying,

Big House BluesI had a big, fine house once,
and life was good there every day.
But then a storm came blowing
and it blew my house away.

My baby, she was with me,
in the big house we would play.
But I lost her when the storm came
and it blew my house away.

My house was sweet intentions
and the storm was bitter truth.
Oh, I wished my house could bear it,
but my wishes were no use.

My big, fine house is gone now,
and I'm living in a shack.
Got to try to keep it solid
and to get my baby back.

And the storm has kept on moving,
it could be headed right for you.
So take a look around you, people,
check your windows and your roof.

Thanks, yes, Magritte has a piece with a bowler hat. The silhouette here is from a simple straw hat but when it was cut out it became similar.
